Soon after purchasing their new home in Hailey, ID, the Shaw family realized that their 35-year-old real cedar shake roof was in need of replacement. After doing some extensive research of reputable roofing products that could protect their home from regional hazards such as wildfires and high winds, they chose F Wave. This is what homeowner Bill Shaw had to say about why he chose REVIA Hand-Split Shake shingles to protect his new home:

“We moved back to the Sun Valley area this past June and purchased a home with a 35-year-old cedar shake roof that was in need of replacement. This resort region is beautiful, but living here comes with a high level of concern for wildfire outbreaks, high gusting winds, and extreme climate changes. Our goal was to find a roofing product with a high rating to address the regional hazards with long life and labor warranties. Asphalt, seamless metal, and synthetic polymers were all materials that we considered, but F Wave ended up being our choice. It was the best-rated roof material in terms of fire, wind, hail, UV, and longevity. The cost was $100.00 more per sq. than asphalt and $300-$350 less per sq. than metal. We choice F Wave based on the factors cited. Their regional rep spent a great deal of time discussing and going over installation with the local roofing contractor. He even spent a day actually on the roof working with the team installing the new roof. Our roofing contractors told us the installation was very solid and that the product was surprisingly easy to work with. We renewed our property insurance a week after completion of the new roof and our homeowners policy dropped from $2,800.00 to $1,200.00 annually. Our broker shared having gone with a synthetic polymer product such as F Wave and their warranties played a major role in reducing the cost of our coverage. Our home is the first to be roofed with F Wave in the state of Idaho and we are confident in our choice, the long-term insurance savings, and beautiful look of our new roof.”
